"A higher percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon has found its way into this wine that is dark, deep, nuanced and supple. Sourced from young vines on our Candlestick Ridge Vineyard the 2020 HMC displays immediate Howell Mountain power in the glass with lavender, thorny fruits and mineral at the fore. Without doubt, its a slightly more serious wine than previous bottlings, with a long life ahead in the cellar, though it will taste great if opened immediately." -Winemaker's Tasting Notes

The 2020 Howell Mountain Cuvee is a powerful, tannic wine. Bruising tannins are hard to get past. I am not especially optimistic about the future for this wine. The blend is 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot and 2% Malbec.
